Postmodern Literature and Culture
Seminar, three hours. Enforced requisite: English Composition 3. Exploration of literature (and some film, music, and fine art) that emerged after World War II in postmodern era. Postmodern literature and other postmodern cultural forms challenge master narratives or belief systems, fostering skepticism toward totalizing truth claims while encouraging us to embrace diverse perspectives and heterogeneous models of identity. Satisfies Writing II requirement. Letter grading.
